Jerry Lee Lewis 'You Win Again'

In 1952 Hank Williams recorded his composition, "You Win Again." Five years later Jerry Lee Lewis covered it as the B-side to "Great Balls of Fire" which was a major hit. "You Win Again," which reached number 4 on the Billboard country chart, was made at the Sun Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, where Elvis Presly, Johnny Cash, and Carl Perkins all had their start. It can be found on CD on 20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection: The Best of Jerry Lee Lewis on the Mercury Nashville label. I have the original Sun 45 and have always personally preferred the B-side. This sound recording is administered by Believe & WMG. My fav Jerry Lee song of all time. So simple, just his voice, sliding into the melody, his piano, light brushes and background vocals. I especially love hearing the piano solo, a dialogue between Jerry's right and left hands. The whole thing is simply perfect.

They kicked him out of rock n roll so all he did was tear up the country charts. This man is one of the greatest of all time. Nobody will ever be able to own the piano like Jerry lee Lewis.

Like Jerry Lee said: "i'm not only a singer and pianist, i'm a stylist of music.." i totally agree. This is a perfect pure classic country song, written by an american poet, Hank Williams, and here is singed by an extremely talented artist from Ferriday Louisiana. I don't like to call him the Killer. I prefer to consider him an excellent interpreter of one of the most fabulous music in the world. Rock'n'roll firstable, country and western, blues, gospel, also jazz and all the genres that he play. Thank you Jerry Lee. Many artists have sung and played country music, but none in as personal a way as yours. You are such a great storyteller of stories of broken hearts and you do it in the most wonderful way there is ... singing and playing with all your heart.

My dad had this song playing the other day and I love it. I grew up with this kind of music playing in the house. I'll be 23 in July but I have an appreciation for music like this. ❤❤❤

One of the few covers ever that's better than the original, and considering the original's from Hank Williams, that's pretty fucking impressive. Jerry totally took this song and made it his own.

The killer
No one else like him never will be again. Today's country music and rock and roll lacks the soul of the of what Jerry and others brought to the audience's of there time when it all began. Today's sound is no comparison to the real sound of music. Thanks killer for your devotion to your sound and style to what real music sounds like. Keep on playing it.

Hank Williams Sr. owns this song. No one can do it better, because Hank recorded the song for a reason. His pain is felt by the way he sings the song.
