Owned the 18-105mm, sigma 30mm, sigma 16mm and sony 50mm. but the one that i mainly use is currently 18-105mm. It's a very versatile lens and only downside is that it suffers in the low light situation. Otherwise, it's a beast. Subbed to your feed and you found yourself a fan from Malaysia.

Thank you so very much for making this video. I am so grateful to you for pointing out exactly what I needed to know about these lenses. I will be using an a6400 body and had concerns about OSS as a6400 lacks IBIS. It is strange to me how many lens options there are for e mount aps-c cameras that lack any image stabilization. I found lots of great reviews that helped to demonstrate photo quality but almost everyone I came across neglected to discuss video and which lenses would appear more stable while recording. You made the choice very clear for me after a week of researching non-stop.

Thank you for this video! You validated the lenses I already own and use. The 35mm 1.8 and the 18mm to 105mm! Cheers

Even though I heard nothing new, I enjoy your videos. I own several of the lenses you praise except the 18-105 but that is now the highest on my list. I fully agree with your choices.

Thank you so much for this. This will be my lens purchase in order based on what I do.

1. Sigma 16mm F1.4
2. Sony 18-105 F4
3. Sigma 56 F1.4

Absolute agree with the lens choice. I also use the Sony 18-105 F4, Sigma 16mm1.4 and the Sony SEL35f1.8 on my NEX-VG30. And if I would only be allowed to keep three lenses for filming, this would be my choice. Although a wide angle lens, you can get a shallow dof with nice bokeh on the Sigma 16 mm. For work with gimbal, the Sigma and also the Sony 18-105 are too protruding and heavy with a camcorder body, and the smaller Sony 35 mm lens has a too long focal length for gimbal work. So for gimbal, I have a small Sony 18-55 mm zoomlens, that does a good job.

The Sony 16 55 f 2.8 has almost the same quality of the Sigma trio, in one lens (same size as the 16 mm): 918 €on Amazon. In my kit I also have the Samyang 12 mm F2 when I need a wider angle and the Sony 35 mm F 1.8 for videos.

I really think the Laowa 9mm 2.8 ZD should be included here. It’s small, very sharp and doesn’t need to be focused past three feet. The Laowas are an unbelievable Chinese lens value for the quality throughout their product line.

My set are Sony 18-105, 35mm and sigma 16 mm, but mosty i use 18-105 during a day and sigma in the night. I do 98% videos on my a6400

I wish we had a Wide angle zoom with a wide Aperture like f/2.8 for a6000 series.

I have the sony a6000 and I find myself loving videography. I have the kit lens and the Sony 35mm 1.8 which is AMAZING for portraits, but not for travel video. I've been looking into getting the Sigma 16mm or the Sony 10-18mm. Sigma is the more affordable one, but is heavier than the 10-18mm. My videos tend to be shaky because I'm using my camera handheld and any added weight effects the shot. So I am ALSO considering gimbals.

This is an expensive hobby! lol

On the Sony aps-c camera, the three lenses sigma16mm.30mm.56mm are sufficient for daily photo and video shooting.

I will be getting a Sony a6100 and care mostly about photography and taking photos of family . Which compact lens would u recommend if u only had 1 for a while. Some people say if you stick with the kit lens it’s a waste cause then you shouldn’t get a camera and stick with ur phone .
