UConn freshmen Ashlynn Shade, KK Arnold making a name for themselves in the NCAA Tournament

UConn's dynamic duo of freshmen guards, Ashlynn Shade and KK Arnold, have emerged as unexpected stars in the ongoing NCAA Tournament, showcasing their talent and resilience amidst adversity. Despite initially flying under the radar compared to other touted freshmen across the nation, Shade and Arnold have made significant impacts, propelling their injury-battered team forward with remarkable performances.

Hailing from Indiana, Shade has notably showcased her prowess as a sharpshooter, contributing a staggering 45 points across the Huskies' first two tournament games. Meanwhile, Arnold, known for her playmaking abilities and tenacious defense, delivered a pivotal moment by sinking a crucial 3-pointer that secured Connecticut's victory over Syracuse.
