My husband and I had a pet skunk for a few years. We picked her up on the side of the road next to the carcasses of her mother and two siblings. Pet skunks are legal where we live so we got her checked, had her scent glands removed and got her a license. Named her Leeka. She was so cool looking, her coloring was reversed. She had a white body and black stripes instead of a black body with white stripes. She was more chill than our cats! I miss her

Skunks are unironically cute af. The way they move is super neat, too. The first time I saw a skunk in person it was in the dark and all I saw was a white wave moving along the ground.

Raccoons are the exact same way. I feed the ones around here a small amount of cat food. Have been for years. I don't try to pet them but they come up and start taping my leg if they want more food lol. I would love to feed them more but that discourages foraging.
