And the baby is named after the mother.

Oh, the sorrow. Two rows next to my husband's grave is a young mother and her infant. Early 1900s. When I put flowers on my husband's grave, I also put flowers on her's.

This used to happen a lot....I'm grateful to live in a time & place where modern medicine has lowered the infant mortality rate and women don't frequently pass away during childbirth....❤Y

The widower had to be in deep mourning having lost both wife and child. ❤

I'm a retired RN & I worked L&D for 20 years. While working there I learned that prior to our modern OB care for moms & babies that fully 50% of pregnancies ended w/ either the mother or the baby dying. 50% y'all! Imagine those odds! We need to approach antepartum care w/ the concern it deserves. Each life is precious!!!

The baby lived 2 months after mother died giving birth ! The baby probably sensed the loss of her mother and died 2 months later ! So sad ! Thank God we have progressed in technology to make childbirth safe ! Thank you, Lord, for our advancement in technology in all of medicine !

I love your Channel I stumbled upon something like this 7 years ago in one of our local cemeteries called Oakwood, high up on one of the Hills there was a large Monument I had to check it out there were all these small Graves around it a beautiful body of water behind it very very old I read all the inscriptions so fascinating his wife died a year later his baby son died almost to the day of his mother's death the gentleman married her sister they had a baby boy he died a couple months old they had a baby boy again he died a little time went by they had a baby girl she lived to be 2 years old. they had a little boy that little boy . the father died the mother and son lived I just had to know more I was compelled to take pictures of the inscriptions the layout water trees and to go there often, it broke my heart to know the suffering that man went through with both wives with the children the very first child the little girl and to finally have a child that lived .the diseases at that time the blood loss it look like a prominent family I looked it up one day I found out that the last boy grew up became a very prominent man in Troy New York to my horror we drove up there and there was a large heavy chain link fence stopping cars from going around that little Bend and stopping people from visiting, the caretaker song me one day and I told him how sad I am to find this family and learn all they went through everything would be by carriage and horse at that time there were no cars and I can see the dates most of the time it was winter an extremely cold and wet and dangerous to be there for all the mourners dressed in black with top hats pulling little tiny coffins in carriages the caretaker told me anytime you want to come here and visit them come to the mansion in front let him know he'll come up with me and unlock the chain so I can get to see my friends❤

And the baby died 2 months, 8 days later. Same age as my baby sister that died from SIDS.
She died at 2 months, 8 days, in January of 1988

Unfortunately, it is too common here in the States when it doesn't have to be.

Thats my birthday, 83 years later.

They are with Jesus. Together. I hope the dad found peace and love after this tragedy.

I met a friend at work many years ago and she told me about her brother walking to the store with her two little nieces and they were killed by a car that went off the road. I remember getting chills when she told me because I remembered that happening years before I met her but I didn't know why the car went off the road. She told me that the driver was brushing her hair. We never kept in touch and years later I was at a cemetery with my young grandchildren to attend a veteran's day memorial. We walked around to look at other tombstones and my grandson said "hey Nana, look at this one over here!". When I walked over, it was the grave of a young man and his two little daughters. Then it hit me that it was my friend's brother and her nieces from work. Just typing this has me in tears.

Losing a child is the worst pain you will ever feel; Your pain will always be there It never goes away but you learn how to live with it. To lose both Mother and Child would be a nightmare for the remaining family members.
