Avery County Historical Museum | High Country Weekend

We can get so wrapped up in our busy, modern lives, it can be hard to imagine what the High Country used to be like. Luckily, the Avery County Historical Museum exists to preserve the old ways of life. Everything in the museum was donated by local residents and ranges from medical supplies and military artifacts, to a full recreation of the typical bedroom and schoolhouse in 1912.
