Much as it is nice to get the extra help, I can't help thinking it would be a much better idea for the government to get a grip on inflation. It's almost as if they are trying to buy the votes of the less well off with these handouts. Maybe it is just the cynic in me.

Cost of living payments =pointless. The government should do what they are supposed to do and stand up for the people and get the energy prices reduced same goes for the food to as it is clearly evident that the extra money we are paying for all of the above stuff when you look at the profit margins of the company's that supply the above mentioned gas electric and food and especially on petrol and diesel the profits are in the billions now if it did cost all this extra money then there should only be small profits but it's very large amounts of money profit that concerns me

im just confused as to why the government cant be like ok energy companies heres wat your gonna do ur gonna reduce cost to 50% and we will give you x amount cash ohh and price is fixed for 5yrs till we get a government that actually knows wtf they are doing. has to be easier dealing with 100 different energy companies than a few million individuals

I thought if ppl on benefits or pensions it was automatically paid into their account.. Now some ppl say ppl have to apply for it.

Great for people sitting at home.
What about people working who have fuel costs, council tax, rents etc not paid for by the DWP and I don't mean fuel costs as in electric I mean extremely expensive petrol to get to work.
It might sound unfair but working 5 days in the retail sector I see the £301 for non workers as meaning great I can order more pizzas from just eat whil s i Watch daytime tv. Now I know that is not always the case but it's what springs to mind I'm afraid !

New this 2 weeks ago, mate. Also that if your on UC benefits, or many others, you will have to wait until May to see the pay rise. They pay in arrears.
