A son who seeks his mother which left the family for someone she always longed to be with.
A wish for a happy life with a band of friends only to be destroyed with only one tiny wave.
A family who tries their best to pretend to be fine and hiding their true feelings.
This is kinda a sad game with calming looks and sounds

For the interested, Hugo is a caiman lizard and a paludarium is what you get when you have a terrarium and aquarium in one.

It shows each game like a different story, but for some reason it seems like it's talking about the same people: the youngest who's left by himself (it's a boy; Emil is a boys name), the older child who suspects the mom of cheating, and the entire family struggling to deal with their issues without actually solving them, which eventually leads to the downfall (how the band is splashed awwy in the third game). It eventually builds in adult life, with the kid(s) learning to keep their feelings of loneliness and hopelessness to themselves (the box of miniatures being locked at the end of reminiscing).

As an adult who lives alone, I still randomly open the fridge, hoping for new food to have appeared. It never works :(
Jokes aside, this seems like a really cute game, I can't wait to watch the rest of it!

The result of loneliness, wishing to be somewhere else, someone else, something else, and only that fantasy giving warmth.
The absence of someone, either through sickness or going with someone else, leaving with loud noise only to end in lost, dark silence.
The imagination of what could be happening when you aren’t looking, a form of self-entertainment, dreaming, and maybe longing.
The bottling up of emotions, feelings and thoughts, pretending everything is fine when the parents are actually terrifying.

There seems to be an overarching theme of quietude and loneliness, making this a beautiful, calming, and rather melancholic game in my opinion.

And the lizard is very cute! Actually, I coincidentally bought a plush lizard just yesterday as gift for my friend. I hope she’ll like it.

That 3rd story with the little guys was so stinkin ADORABLE!! <3 This was so unique and an odd, yet amazing experience to watch. I loved it.

I think the game definitelly shows family issues
1st one having absent parents that always work
2nd mother leaving potentially for a different man?
3rd could be about how childhood doesn't last forever or something along these lines?
and 4th definitelly hiding away all the negartive feeling to the point where they almost overflow

Somehow the 2nd story makes me feel like crying. My mom could’ve had a better life but she chose us, her children and decided to stay. She once told me that we were the reason that she keeps moving forward. I want to be something for her

This is such a beautiful game, but more sad than I expected. Miniatures really feels more like an interactive art piece than a "traditional" video game. Very cool. 👍Also, what an amazing thing to send out as a game promo! I'm very much envious of Gab's extremely cute clay lizard, haha. 😍
