In the village of Kolar, there was an old tree that stood tall at the outskirts. For generations, villagers believed a spirit resided within the tree, guarding it fiercely. No one dared to go near it after dark, as there were stories of people disappearing under its twisted branches. But these were only stories, until the village chief's son, Arjun, died mysteriously near the tree one moonless night.
The villagers whispered that the tree had claimed Arjun, just as it had taken others in the past. Fear spread quickly, and rumours swirled that the tree was cursed. Unable to bear the constant murmurs, the village chief, Sundar, decided to put an end to it once and for all. He announced that he would cut down the tree himself, a bold move that shocked everyone.
No worker in the village dared to help him. "You will die too, " they said, refusing his offer for any amount of money. Determined to silence the fear that had gripped his village, Sundar grabbed an axe and set off alone one fateful night.
As he neared the tree, the wind grew colder. The once still air now felt heavy, as though it carried the weight of unseen eyes. His heart raced, but he pressed on. When he was just a few feet away from the tree, he saw her. A pale figure, sitting on a high branch, rocking slowly as she gnawed on something in her hands. He froze in his tracks, unable to comprehend what he was seeing.
The figure turned towards him, and his blood ran cold. It was a woman, her hair long and matted, her eyes hollow and dark. But what chilled him to his core was what she was eating—it was the severed head of his son, Arjun.
A scream escaped his throat, and Sundar dropped the axe, stumbling backward. The woman let out a low, guttural laugh as blood dripped from her mouth. “He tasted good, ” she whispered. Sundar's legs gave way, and he turned to run, his mind clouded with panic.
Somehow, he made it back to the village and hid for the night. When he reached his home, he was greeted by a sight that made his heart stop—there was a funeral gathering. Villagers were sobbing, but the grief on their faces wasn’t for Arjun.
It was for him.
Confused, Sundar pushed through the crowd. When he saw the body laid out for the final rites, he realised with horror that it was his own. His heart pounded in his chest as the truth slowly dawned on him. He was already dead.
Trembling, Sundar staggered away from the funeral, back toward the cursed tree. The pale woman was waiting for him, her eyes glowing in the darkness. “I told you, ” she said, her voice eerily calm, “you are tonight’s dinner.”

There was a boy who went into the dark forest. His parents told him dont go to far.but the boy dint return. His parents called 911. The police search in the dark forest and found alot of ded bodys including the boy. Shocked by this horror they warnded t not go to the dark forest at night
