Kuusijärvi is a small lake in the eastern part of Vantaa, between Kuninkaanmäki and Päiväkumpu. The lake is a valuable recreational area because it is located close to population centers and major roads and because there are hardly any other lakes in Vantaa. The Kuusijärvi outdoor center in the city of Vantaa operates in Kuusijärvi. The outdoor center is located along Old Lahdentie near Koivukylä. You can get there from Tikkurila in summer on bus line 712A.
Lake Kuusijärvi has been very popular with the people of the Helsinki metropolitan area for decades. In summer, Kuusijärvi attracts Vantaa's largest beach, saunas and activities in nature. During the winter season, people are attracted by open-air swimming, well-maintained ski areas and traditional smoke saunas. The Kuusijärvi main building has a varied and cozy café-restaurant, Cafe Kuusijärvi, all year round.
