The media need to start comparing what the country was like when the last Labour government left power in 2010 to when the tories left power in 2024. That would be an eye opener

What is apparent from the Conservatives in Parliament, not just on the subject of Prisons; is they keep asking Labour just How, they are going to solve the Problem of the day.
Fifteen years they’ve been in power and simply ignored any future planning.
My thoughts are that in six months time a lot of conservatives will simply leave for better paid jobs in other areas.
Especially if Starmer bans/restriction on second jobs.
