Enforced pedestrianisation, the efforts to discourage private vehicle usage and a disregard for the electorate by the local councils. Does Harrogate have something in common with Oxford, Canterbury and Thetford?

Rebel News will keep reporting on the 15-minute WEF style schemes happening around the UK and if you appreciate this kind of reporting please consider donating to help keep us reporting on the ground at www.ukreporters.co.uk

Profound and terrifying. Deadly seriousness creeps in everywhere.

Thank you for your always sensitive work, Callum. Always see you as soon as possible.

They did this in Ashford in Kent, when they built the new international railway station for the Eurostar, now the Eurostar doesn't even stop in Ashford, and the majority of shops in the town centre are boarded up, and Ashford is dead of visitors, whole project was a complete waste of time, money and energy, so all I can say to the people of Harrogate is fight it, don't let them ruin your town.

The residents must look, urgently, at how residents of Thetford are fighting back.
If only more people watched YouTube and other channels they would understand the spurious reasoning behind all these apparently 'thoughtless' moves. Those on Thetford Council had their eyes thoroughly opened by some very well informed residents and speakers at the open meeting.

There is only one answer, to form a political party to take back control and stop this madness

The council has lined their pockets at the expense of small business owners.

As the concrete tower blocks were the sixties mistake, pedestrianisation of town centres will be the mistake of the early 21st century … the town will die..

question I didn`t hear was what is the estimated loss of income to the town from businesses closing jobs and less visitors has any work been done on this if not why not.

Its basic consumer logic: a central location with ease-for-access, is good for business...
So if slap down a one mile exclusion zone around a town core, it can ONLY be bad for business.
The only winners here are going to be the Bus companies that win the contracts to service the pedestrian areas, the private carpark companies around the perimeter, and the local councillors, who are no doubt getting some kind of "reward" for inflicting this on the town.
Nobody is going to drive nearby, pay to park their car, pay to get a bus, just so they can buy their shopping, and repeat the process on the way home. People will just order online or drive to the nearest supermarket on the outskirts of town. When you pedestrianize a town core you effectively cap the amount people will spend because they are limited by what they can comfortably carry, and for how long. Nobody wants to walk 2 miles carry their weekly food shop ffs.

Sounds like the government is building a new corral

Pedestrianisation destroys town centres. Cycle lanes that no one uses.

Identify which individuals in local/county councils are responsible for implementing this "project" and write/email them demanding an explanation why this is beneficial for the town, how they "individually" became involved, and whose consent they had for the public expenditure involved.

No facial recognition should be allowed in a free country, draw your own conclusions to what this means. From public servants to public enemies!

The next step that we need to consider taking, is finding out which companies our local councils are looking to hire to do the government's bidding, and then, if needs be, create a blockade so that they wont be able to do their job. If our local councils wont listen to us, let them listen to the people they hire to do their bidding, that way, they'll be getting assaulted from numerous sides. Remember, there are more of us than there are of them and the more we get on our side and off of theirs, the stronger we will be.

It’s not about keeping the town pretty. It’s about keeping people at home and within their own neighbourhood. Everyone must say no.
