'Putting Migration into Lurgan History': a talk by Dr Patrick Fitzgerald and Dr Liam Campbell

Join the us, the Lurgan Townscape Heritage Scheme and the Friends of Shankill Graveyard for this special talk which will examine the migration patterns of emigrants from Lurgan and the wider County of Armagh from the 1600s through to the 1900, which will be given by Dr Patrick Fitzgerald and Dr Liam Campbell of the Mellon Centre for Migration Studies and will take place at Brownlow House.

The presentation will provide an insight into the reasons why people chose to come to and leave the town, the influences behind their choice of destination and how this changed over time, and the stories and legacy of those who made the journey whether to Britain, America, Canada, Australia or New Zealand or elsewhere.
