hi! i have the KBI-R 2-ROD ALARM 2+1, can i add another sensor to be 3+1?

When fishing is it better to have your rod tip closer to the water so your line goes straight in instead of having your rod tip high up from the water or does it not matter?

The shittest alarms ever made. Had these for 3 years, the batterys run out fast, the line gets stuck on to the frame when striking but the only the good thing is they are cheap as fuck.
