We wrap the lights around a piece of cardboard and then you can test them and on wrap them straight onto the tree.

Stephanie and Michaels tree reminds me of my own tree that my wife and I started decorating with special ornaments for each other 30 years ago. Our Christmas ornaments have been a tradition for our three kids and my Wife and I for so many Christmas’s that they are easily our most valued possessions. Even now I can tell you where each one was purchased and who they are for as well as what year they were put on the tree. On our first Christmas together after being married for two months we bought a beautiful heart shaped ornament with a family inside that was a mom and dad with three children, the oldest a brown haired boy then a blonde girl then a brunette girl and when our youngest daughter was a toddler we noticed that the family in our heart shaped ornament looked exactly like our family even though when we got it we had no idea how things would turn out. I was nineteen and she was 16 when I talked her parents into giving us permission to marry and everybody we knew said we wouldn’t last past that first Christmas. I am happy to say that the most beautiful girl in the world is still spending her Christmas’s with me and I hope our 30th Christmas this year will be as magical as all the ones I’ve been able to spend with her. Your tree has really made me think of all our beautiful memories together as I’m sure you feel the same when you look at all your special ornaments. Merry Christmas to all at Chateau de Lelande.

I love all things Christmas, I have vintage snowmen and Santas, advertising art/framed vintage paper, small trees with antique ornaments- the music, the food, the lights....so thrilled Lalande is with me in spirit - and reading comments there is an army of us!

Originally back in medieval times mince pies did have meat and the dried fruits and spices in. Over the centuries the meat was left out and they became the desert we now know.

I have to admit, it would not be X mas without Michael Potts. Both last year and this COVID year. Ruth is a good sport for allowing Michael P to continue to be at the Chateau every Christmas. OMG.. were sent away each X Mas. UGH Mummy???? I must admit, I love seeing Stephanie and her Ex Michael Potts do X mas together each year. Again, Ruth is a very good sport. One of my husband's favourite ornaments is the "Puffer Fish of Peace." While we were in the early days of dating he gave me a pink Chihuahua in a tutu ornament. I love unusual and memorable ornaments. Lovely tree.

How to store Christmas tree lights. Roll up a nice thick newspaper and secure it with tape (diameter 4-5cm/lenght 50cm) When dismantling the christmas lights, you roll the christmas lights around the newspaper roll. And next year you just unroll you Christmas lights from the newspaper roll, onto your tree. Et voila ... no tedious tangles and your christmas lights will last you for a very long time.

I've been watching the advent vlogs side by side and in this one, I just want to say, a true Christmas tree is made perfect by personal meaningful ornaments. Other trees are just lovely decorations unless there is some history, some story, some personal MEANING hung somewhere on it's branches. That connection to family and friends represented on my tree is one of my most favorite things about Christmas.

I am revisiting & enjoying Lalande Christmas's Past. Michael Potts, along with Oliver, two of your treasured men I appreciate so much. Michael Potts, so free with his bright smile, is a delightfully impish scamp, which I easily spot, having the same traits w/ my name meaning "gift of the elves'. His eyes literally twinkle with mischief & jolly cheer.
Ollie is a charming, patrician sweet teacher type, passionately teaching & instilling his love of history & art into the unsuspecting. He is another handsome man. All your long-time best man friends: Michael Potts, Oliver & Mason add so much rich content by sheer dint of their innate charm and authentic personalities. You are all brought together by the intuitive serendipity of life and that is something rare.

The tree is stunning and just how I like them, loaded with memories of events from many years past. I’m not much for theme trees, I like a bigger bushy tree and if it’s not bushy enough I add fir garlands until it is. Doesn’t matter if the firs match, no one notices once it’s decorated. ✨🎄✨🎄✨🙋🏼

Love this tree decoration gold and red really beautiful and without your own nostalgia added what would Christmas be? Going back to the 1840s and looking at V&A's trees they would not be amused but impressed I think you have captured the essence.
