SUPER 8: Korea's Etland Elephants continue to roll in Macau

China and Korea were the two big winners or Day 2 of the Summer Super 8 tournament at the East Asian Games Dome here.

South Korea got the first pair of victories Wednesday as the Etland Elephants beat the NLEX Road Warriors, 75-60.

The Elephants took over solo lead in Group A with a 2-0 mark and are essentially through to the next round.

After a beating at the hands of Blackwater in Day 1, the Samsung Thunders bounced back by surviving the Rizing Zephyr Fukuoka in the second game of the day, 68-63.

The other PBA team in the Macau invitational, the Blackwater Elite, took a 69-88 beating at the hands of the undefeated Guangzhou Long Lions in the third game.

Blackwater was only down one after three quarters but the Long Lions dropped a 22-1 run in the fourth to seal the victory.

In the last game of the day, the Xinjiang Flying Tigers made quick work of the Formosa Dreamers, 94-57, for the first win.

After the days, the Super 8 standings is as follows:

Group A

Etland 2-0

Group B

Guangzhou 2-0
Blackwater 1-1
Samsung 1-1
Fukuoka 0-2

Only the top-2 teams from each group will advance to the crossover semifinals set this weekend.
