To get shaders in 1.21.3, we will be using Iris Shaders. Previously, you may have used OptiFine to get shaders in Minecraft, but OptiFine is very slow to update to new versions of Minecraft. That means that if you want shaders for 1.21.3 faster, you will want to use Iris Shaders not OptiFine. Iris Shaders can also provide a better experience than OptiFine with more shader compatibility and better performance.

To download the Iris Shaders mod for 1.21.3, go to the second link in the description above. That will take you to our text guide on getting Iris. Once you are there, click the “Download Iris Shaders” button to go to Iris’ official download page. On this page, click the “Download Universal Jar” button, and Iris Shaders will start downloading. You may need to keep or save the file depending on your browser.

After you have Iris downloaded, we will need to download some 1.21.3 shader packs. These are what actually adds the different shading and lighting to Minecraft 1.21.3. There is a link in the description above to download shader packs. There are tons of different Minecraft 1.21.3 shader packs to choose from. i tried it with to start it via curseforge, since I have some recourse packs installed, but can't add the shaders. Can I still play with the resource pack or isn't that possible?
