My friend Kerstin was a HUGE Tokio Hotel fan. We met at a Tokio Hotel Fan Club meeting back in 2010 when we were 14 years old and we’ve been friends ever since. She passed away from synovial sarcoma the day this song was announced and this song came out the day of her birthday. It would’ve been the perfect gift for her.
The day she passed away was very shocking to all of us because we all thought she was undergoing treatment out of the country when in reality she came back, never told anyone, isolated herself from everyone and wouldn’t answer anyone. She had been here for 3 months and nobody knew except her family and they weren’t allowed to tell anyone because she didn’t want them to. That was her white lie. She didn’t want her friends to see her like that. And that’s the reason this song is so important to me. It just makes me cry every fucking time.
