Oncidium Orchids are some of the most diverse orchids due to the inter hybridisation and intergeneric hybrids. They have multiple colours, shapes and even fragrances. To top it all, they are easy to keep :) Enjoy!

Excellent video as always.  Thank you very much for all the advice.  I have a very poorly Oncidium at present that I rescued from an elderly friend. It's now doing a little better than it was but it has a very long way to go.  With the extra help you have provided here I hope to have some really good news in about six months.

Ah thank you for this! I was definitely treating my oncidium like a phal, and getting a very wrinkled pseudobulb as a result!

I have had phalaenopsis orchids for years and i have learnt that im very good with them.
Recently I brought orchid name labelled "Cambria" I knew it was very weak ( almost fully dead root system) and thanks to your videos i was able to save it. I checked and it has made new roots and new growth. Mine had very dark red/purpleish skinny flowers and i haven´t seen meny of those anywhere. I wish someday i will find real name for it!

Just got an oncidium for my channel here on youtube. So glad I found your channel! Great info. I grow so many different things indoors, but this is going to be my first try at an oncidium orchid. You got a new follower. :-)

Haha! This was great, but when I clicked on the video, I was hoping to hear about how YOU care for cattleyas and if they like semi hydro. I have one in a wick set up with leca and I hope it will thrive.

Hello, I am happy I found your channel as I have just purchased 2 oncidiums named Miltonia, one is White Ruffle another is andrea West. They have wonderful fragrances, so I will be watching your channel for info on keeping them alive. Thanks for your wonderful advise for orchid growers.

Thank you so much! My odontocidium needed a little help and I am excited to learn new tips now!

The watering advice was SO needed! I've been watering every 3-5 days for my odontocidium wildcat, and its pseudobulbs are getting ugly ugly!
I am pretty sure I would kill vandas due to my forgetfulness with watering haha!!

Again, thank you for the lovely video and it was very informative! Wonderful job!

Love your videos! What season do Oncidiums bloom?

A video on blooming seasons of orchids would be a HUGE help as I'm trying to make a collection of orchids where there is always something in bloom

Hi Danny, I have to tell you my thoughts about the pseudobulbs in oncidium genera. The environment from wich this kind of orchid's were found is in the tropics wich have a rainy season and a least humid one. These orchids need constant humidity around their roots. So if in nature the rule of all living things is the maximum benefit with the lower spent of energy. Why will an orchid use energy to store water if in the environment where she lives humidity is constantly available? My theory is: Because the water that they receive has very low nutrients the pseudobulbs do not store water only but nutrients. My experience is that if you have wrinkle pseudobulbs with good roots if you give them only pure water (0 TDS) they will take longer to refill that if you give them fertilized water and plenty of light. What do you think?

Very good video. Where I can buy oncidium? I did not see at SF stores, they are so beautiful and I desire to have some. I have some orchids. Most of them are were sick and I like to reanimate / I have studied Biology and Chemistry in University of S.Petersburg / Russia/ many years ago and still remember my work with hydroponic growing tomatoes at summer practice . Now it is like a hobby, . Most of the time I watch Utube video from Russian bloggers, but here you are the best teacher!!!

Hey, I love watching your videos, they've helped me so much growing my own orchids, if it wasn't for your advice, I still wouldn't have any blooms :)
Would you be able to help me with what the black spots are on the oncidium orchids and how to prevent them please? Kind Regards
