Climate Resiliency and Adaptation for Cash Crop Farmers

Cash crop production in southern Ontario, including Grey, Bruce and Huron counties, faces a number of challenges linked to changing weather conditions. This training session focuses on existing vulnerabilities within cash crop production in the region and provide details on crop sensitivity, exposure and capacity to adapt and become more resilient in the future. Training materials draw from research products, including a risk registry and a case study series on best management practices adopted across the region.
The session provides an understanding of current and future risks and opportunities to cash crop production and increases awareness of climate change vulnerability and factors that influence it, allowing farmers/participants to make informed decisions on applying recommended responses and adopting best management practices to mitigate climate risks.
