Wait Before You Buy 2021 Harley-Davidson Street Bob, Reasons Why You Shouldn't Buy 114 Street Bob

If you're in the market for a full frame 114, and you're between the FXBB or the FXLRS watch my video. Straight to the point, you get more for just a extra $3k. You get improved handling, improved braking, and you get more range. Braking alone should be the reason you avoid the 114 Street Bob, no ABS and no dual disc brakes($2k-$2.5k in extras not available on the FXBB). Depending on your dream build, if you're planning different bars then you should go with the FXLRS. I've seen a lot of FXBB owners buying bigger thanks and installing full rear fenders on their Street Bobs. Just pony up the extra $3k and buy what you like not the price tag. Low rider s
- dual discs do little to improve stopping power, only increase heat dissipation e.g in track riding
- Speedometer placement means you need to lower your chin everytime you need to check the speed
Also the street bob just looks better 😉

Just rode the low rider S and street bob. ABS is subjective I didn't want it. and the twin brakes on the low rider S were wooden compared to the single on the street bob. Have a gorgeous 2021 FXBB sitting in my garage now.

Just checked with a few Harley Dealers in pursuit of the Street Bob.
Unfortunately I was advised that due to some supply/delivery issues with the Harley
dealers, they will not be receiving any new bike shipments for a minimum of 2 weeks or more and likely won't see anything till July.
These supply and demand chain issues and manufacturing delays are becoming a real sad.

Low rider S for sure. Been my dream bike since it came out even with the dyna set up

Good video man! In my opinion all bikes should come standard with ABS.

the price in germany between a street bob and a low rider s is about 3600€ about 4200$. all new bikes have to install abs since January 2016. u cant get a new bike without it.

Great vid as I'm considering these two bikes- Think your vid pushed me over the edge and I'll be going with the Low Rider, the value is there.

One suggestion: follow the sales volume of low rider, street bob and new 2022 Chief. Great video! 👍🏻

You bring up some real good points about what you’re getting for the extra money.
That was one of the things I thought about also ( mainly the Dual disc brakes up front ) .
That got me nervous about the Street Bob until I rode it . It had surprisingly excellent stopping power up front - and I hit it HARD 😳.
The other thing that caught me out there was how balanced the Bob felt to me…. I was scratching my head like - WTF did the engineers do to it ⁉️ 🤷🏻‍♂️
Then it just came down to the looks - I always thought the Street Bob looked bad-ass, so that’s what I went with.
To your point though, I think for the money, the Low Rider is definitely a good deal if you’re into that look.
I think it was that Evil-Knievel -1 tank that really got me 🤷🏻‍♂️ ❕❗️❕❗️ 😆

Good Video -✅

dual discs don’t actually stop “better” than single. The only reason spirt bikes have them is so that later in the race, their brakes dont melt. The braking force goes onto both discs instead of just one and with that they wont melt in the middle of the race

I usually agree with you on a lot of things but I got to respectfully disagree on this one or at least say that I have a different opinion. For someone like me that's been riding a long time ABS is actually a strike against a bike I'm considering buying. I side with using proper brake modulation versus ABS. Well ABS can be helpful with a brand-new Rider it can also prevent them from learning proper brake modulation so it's a double-edged sword there.

With dual discs I think they look cool but honestly I think they are unnecessary unless you are riding the bike so hard in canyons and such that you would experience brake fade from heating up a single disk too much. Your braking is only as strong as the weakest link and if a single disc can lock up your tire then the brakes are not the weakest link. If the stock brake pads leave something to be desired I would probably experiment with better brake pads first since the extra disc and caliper also add weight.

Great video, when I (recently) first saw the new street bob. I thought, cool looking bike. I have never owned a harley davidson, but the more I look at this bike now with the 114. The more I want it. I totally get what you are talking about in this vid. But I kinda think that the simplicity of the Bob is what makes it interesting. At least to me. I come from sportbikes and I totally get the fork & dule disk brakes that you mentioned. I guess since I'm older now, the thought of owning a cruiser is appealing more now? And to own a Harley. Well it's like perfect timing I guess? Anyways thanks and ya did a great video! Ride safe!

I appreciate the video but they are intended for 2 different type of riders. The Street "Bob" is just that. Its supposed to be a more minimalist bike "Bobber" That's not what the Low Rider S is supposed to be. The minimalism and styling of the Street Bob is what finally pulled me into buying my first Harley..

I am a new rider and am looking for a soft tail.
Some of the pros I am seeing with the Street Bob is >>>
- It is lighter (plus for new riders)
- Seems to be very nimble and maneuverable (Plus for new riders)
- In my opinion, looks better than the Lowrider S (The tank paint job is bad ass) I like the blue one.
- Sits lower (looks better in my opinion). I think the Street Bob should be the true Lowrider, as it is lower than the lowrider S :).
- Mini Ape Hangers (Much better in my opinion than the stock lowrider S bars)
- Passenger seat (small, but still there)
Overall I think it is a great bike that will not require as many add ons since it is pretty set as it is.. All you would really need is exhaust.
This will be a top contender for me as my first bike.. I will also test drive the Low Rider S and also the Road glide and Street glide, just to feel the difference between the cruiser bikes and touring bikes. One other thing, is at the time of your video you mentioned that the Lowrider S came standard with ABS. Now for the 2022 models, it is an option and no longer comes standard.. So that will jack up the price more for the Lowrider S.

I have the dyna street bob and you're right the brakes suck without abs. Plus that tiny digital display also is a no go for me but I do love the paint on both softails!!!

I love the FXBBS but I'm leaning towards the FXLRS. ABS standard, and fuel capacity. 5 gal vs 3.6. And where did you grab the black/pink shirt from??!! Love it!!!!

I suppose you are correct from the point of someone looking to upgrade those items.
