That hill really is something, even running down it takes much longer than you would ever expect and the increasing steepness is no joke either.😊

When we used to go there there was no sign telling you it was a $3, 000 cost for a rescue. You either hauled your exhausted butt back up the dune and to the parking lot, or you didn't.

I remember running down those dunes. good times

Do you know that people who don't live anywhere near here would assume and argue that this is the ocean...

I've done the run down it, played in the water and coming up it was so steep you are bound to be bent over climbing up due to the steepness of this dune. I made it up, but for every ten strides up hill, youve only gotten two steps forward. Something to say youve conquered once, but thats enough for me. 😆

This is in my neck of the woods.
The Great Lakes are so massive, living near one- mine is Lake Michigan- it always feels like ...well, living near the ocean.
We have huge sand dunes that are unbelievable, I'm next to Indiana Dunes Nat'l Park & we have our famous Mt Baldy.

I’ve never been to the sleeping bear dunes before but I go to the Indiana dunes all the time and it pretty much looks exactly the same

Looks are extremely deciving. This hill/dune is masive and it's a workout even for the fit.

inland lakes levels and rivers are higher that usual so Lake Michigan must be dangerous now too. Lake near me has only 1/3 the sand beach left compared to last year. Be careful out there, people.

I wouldn't either. The sign says ppl on top shit on to the others below.

I did this with MS. The worse part is the 7 additional dunes behind this one that you also have to make it up.

I went there😅 and went to the bottom so I wouldn’t have to pay $20 to my brother and almost got stuck😅

It’s a rig job. One knotted, net roping fixes issue. Maybe $500.

As a 17-year-old kid I used to hang light off those sand dunes. Also I almost drowned in that lake and I knew how to swim😮

We need a sign like this warning people off of the Black rocks at Peggy's Cove!! We aren't going to rescue you unless you pay the fine of 6 grand!!! ( Peggy's cove is in Nova Scotia)

I would just keep walking or swimming until I found my way out. I'd never pay $3000
