Heard someone say the best season for a financial breakthrough is now, especially with inflation running at a four-decade high. I have approximately $750k stagnant in my portfolio that needs growth. What is the best way to take advantage of this downturn?

Hence the reminder: No matter which company you work for, always put yourself and your family first. You are just a cost centre for the company...
Take care of your health. If you are even thinking about the term "work life balance", then something is already wrong.

jobs are losing value daily with massive layoffs, Last year I was working full time budgeting groceries, unable to afford date nights, and missing time with my kids just to make extra money. These days I learn how to make money online, Using my job to finance my goals, You can't be an employee forever everyone should know by now, making extra cashflow interest everyday or weekly should be the goal now.

I was laid off in October 2023 after working my ass off. Almost everyday had late night calls and was working on tight deadlines. Just one month prior to layoff i was given an appreciation award and my manager verbally told me i was doing a great job.

Cut to December 2023 i found a new job with better pay and work life balance.

Take care of your health, the company will wipe off your desk the day you are gone.

I'm an old guy now. I lost my job at 47: I have some advice for maybe one of you. Most of you will probably not listen to this: It was not easy to get a good job. It took 10 months. I had saved money which had saved my hide. I got a job with the US Government. Basically, nobody wanted it, but the work was steady. I worked up and made more money and stayed employed. Then I was able to retire with: SS, a pension, and a 401-type program. Some of you can do this. I got laid off or fired it was a pattern. I have heard all the hype about how much I was going to make, but I found it did not work out with the go go companies! Good luck hope this helps somebody!

This is so cruel practice companies are following these days and nobody is taking a stand against this bullying. I myself lost my job due to layoff and it left me, my collegues and our families stranded with broken dreams and unstable future. There must be a job security. People should raise voice against this dark side of company bullying

In IT field, we have lost the job security. Yes we earn a better margin but at a risk of not knowing when we might get laid off

Thanks for bringing the layoffs issue to lime light. There is no moral responsibility for companies.

The sad reality of the tech market today. However, one must take into consideration the following :
1. The country from where they are firing
2.The nationality of the workers
3.Position of the employees getting sacked.
4. The industry where the massive lay offs are taking place

I am not certain of this fact. A man told me those in the IT industry will be laid off when they reach 40. He said as the IT industry grows rapidly, companies wanted new employees with innovative ideas. Keeping those above 40 is seen as a liability.

Short working hours must be introduced. Wages and salaries may be less, but the cost of living will also be less. Job sharing must be also encouraged. All over the world the unemployment is on the increase. In the free time, grow vegetables and try to be self sufficient. The modern lifestyle depends on too many unstable and costly factors.

That's why GE went down the drain. CEOs since can't reverse it since. Jack killed it for everyone.

If you bring value to the company, they will fight to keep you. That fact has never changed. Treat a job like a value transaction and not a marriage. Give as much as you are getting and no more, and secure your position through value add and networking. Dont give loyalty, dont expect it.

I worked at a fortune 500 company for ten years. The layoffs never stopped. I got it after ten years. I guess today my dept is just a manager doing all of the development testing planning and it support by himself.
