Hi Bex! I listen to audiobooks also but I love cozying up with a good book in hand as well. Especially when it's cold and raining outside. I will be purchasing the Jubilee cookbook by Toni Tipton-Martin. Thank you for the book recommendations ❤

It's so nice seeing you back on youtube Bex! What an excellent video. I love the recommendations, including one book I read this past year, The Vanishing Half. Brit Bennett is a phenomenal story teller. I also like your focus on food/culture writers and look forward to checking out a couple of your other suggestions. Thanks!!

I just read a paperback book. First time in about 8 years. Once I had gotten a Kindle I never went back. It was enjoyable change.

The Vanishing Half sounds really good. I’m going to check it out. I have so many books that I want to read, but I told myself that I won’t buy another book until I’ve read all the books I currently have sitting and waiting for me. lol

I had a partially read paper book unfinished for many months. I finally bought the Audible to go with it and let the author read it to me as I followed along in my book like the old record amd books 😅The author is known for dynamic reading, annotating, and expounding with the latest research when he records the audiobook versions of his books, so it was well worth it. Side note, I really want to read Born a Crime.

As an avid readers I agree. I listen to my Audible a lot because it’s so convenient while working, driving and working out. Book I still love the feel of a book and there are certain books I still buy to read and some I have on audible. Let’s not forget the kindle. If you’re looking for recommendations for Goodreads, Black Cake was excellent it’s also on Hulu now. Everything that Octavia Butler ever wrote ie Kindred also on I believe Hulu or Netflix, Fledgling, wild seed and Parable. Sower the series. I have read all of work twice. The House of Eve and The Yellow Wife by Sadeqa Johnson. Children of Blood and Blood the series book 3 comes out in June and the movie should be out next year all the books are 10 out of 10. Lord I could go on. Happy reading

I read Vanishing Half years ago. You have such an eclectic selection of books. I’m curious what draws you to a particular book? I never thought about reading a cook book. I meet a lady at the library and that’s what she told me she likes reading cookbooks and here you are with two selections. I might explore those. I’m a fiction mystery thriller reader and sometimes romance and maybe autobiography.

The Obesity Code sounds interesting. Ive heard a lot about intermittent fasting and have always thought there was a lot behind hormones we dont understand.
