One of Australia’s hottest Gamefishing destinations is the coastal town of Port Stephens located a few hours north of Sydney.
Each year as the warm water pushes down the east coast thousands of Black and Striped Marlin glide along this highway feeding all the way.
It gives keen anglers like me the chance to launch their trailer boat and do battle with these fantastic sportfish.
After catching some Slimey Mackerel to use as live bait im out at a place they call the carpark looking for where the baitfish are holding and the Marlin are feeding.
Once i have found the bait and the sign of a big marlin feeding on the baitschool i start to troll a live bait slowly around the hot spot.
Using circle hooks i wait until the hook has slipped up into the jaw and im on. To see a leaping Marlin is incredible and the couple of fish i hook jump all over the place.
As I am fishing single handed i have to drive, fight the fish then land it all by myself so the challenge is on.

Back home on my local Port Hacking River i do it tough again catching Kingfish from my Hobie Mirage.

All in all plenty of tips in this action packed episode.

Loved the part on foot pumping the weedy mud flats ET. Brought back memories of my brother and I doing the same at Saratoga when we were just little nippers ourselves. Love ya work mate 👍
