Very educational video. This is honestly the most comprehensive video on Pariaba I have seen. I have a small handful of pariaba tourmaline.( not from brazil)
Mine are all from Mozambique and I did get certs with them. Most of mine are in the blue green range. I have my heart set on a neon blue one someday.

Im new here, and this is the best info on paraiba tourmaline I found. I recently purchased some raw minerals. Guy told me if I buy one more thing, he'll give me 50% off. When I selected a nice specimen off the table, his face hit the floor, and he looked stunned. He almost tearfully honored the 50% off deal. It is supposedly a Brazilian Paraiba tourmaline.
Dumb luck I guess. IF its real.

I have a piece of Brazilian Paraíba from Rio Grande do Norte state, i picked it out of a typical elbaite allotment from a Brazilian tourmaline mining company's store at the tucson gemshow.

The vendors stated the allotment never saw treatment because it was only supposed to be typical elbaite specimens for bulk/wholesale. I spotted it and had it tested to confirm.

12.95 carats, it is in the rough, but shows asterism, and has a few carats of eyes clean material good for cabochoning, I believe this is close to $100, 000 per carat, it was laser spectrometer tested and confirmed to be of approproate composition to be called Paraíba Tourmaline, has extremely vivid Caribbean blue color, and testing ahowed it has a refractove index rivaling fine tanzanite.
