Product Review: Gorilla Locking Lug Nuts

So, you still use this lug nuts? How are they “performing” almost 5 years after install? Noticeable rust? What do you think of the locking key? How tight is the fit with the locking key? My last locking key the fit was way to loose, and after about 5 times it completely striped off the lock. Luckily I got it off without damaged, but now I’m looking for some good stuff

it's not a deterrent.  especially if there is only 1 per wheel.  maybe 5.  but the key is to stop the wheel theft.  rimlox works.  my wheels got jacked off my 2014 ram & I had gorilla locking nut on each rim.  they came into my driveway at 5am, had a cup of coffee & removed my gorilla locking nut off each wheel & left my shit on bricks...no way they will be able to do that again with my rimlox.  they'll just have to steal the truck...that's fine, take it.  at least my home won't be a crime scene spectacle for a week or more.

Did you need to do anything special to avoid scratching the lugs?

Don't torque while on the ground. Jock hp and hold the brake. The weight on the studs will affect the torque.

I've heard horror stories about gorilla lug nuts in the way that they package their product and throw all their lug nuts in a big bag and then into a oversized box. They will come to you chipped and over time, and not much time, they will rust.

with all these colored nuts. do they color eventually chip away?

They are not locking lug nuts. They're standard acorn spline nuts. No security whatsoever...
