Teams from around Japan gathered in Tokyo on Saturday for the All Japan Bubble Soccer finals to vie for the title of 'Bubble King'. Saturday's event was the culmination of nearly two-months of matches to whittle down the teams to a top 8. The sport was originally created in Norway, and puts players inside of an inflatable suit that means there is little chance of cheating and controlling the ball is almost impossible without knocking the other player over. Event organiser Makato Kawakmai thinks this makes Bubble Soccer different to regular football. The winners of the tournament received a prize of 70,000 yen and the title of 'Bubble King'. Report by Laurie Blake.

I was about to mention that this would make it very hard to kick other plays and  stuff but you guys already mentioned it. to bad force fields don't exist yet. this sport would look a lot less silly with them.

Japan are number 1 in the world at "bubble soccer"? Or they're the only ones sad and insane enough to bother playing it. Oh, and it's FUCKING *FOOTBALL*!!!! You're a British company, stop trying to be American.
