Also in Sims 3, if you look closely, the sims are doing their own things actively in the town. They’re driving around going somewhere, jogging, sometimes coming over to your house

One time I was playing the sims 3 unmodded, i had a family with 4 kids and they were all at school and then a meteor that can spawn and strike anywhere in the whole map struck the school. My games action bubble bar proceeded to fill up with "mourn" actions accompanied with the ghost portraits of ALL the kids and teens in my whole town!! It's safe to say the world element of the sims 3 was to this day unmatched!

My fav part would be seeing townies all the sudden with babies like “when did THAT happen”. I had a townie die at the movie theater with their baby and I saw the baby crawl almost all the way home 🤣

Open world was heaven to me. When my sims house was empty (they were at school/work) i would get bored, so i would stalk and follow random sims all over the city and find out where they live. 😂 Open world was great

Don't forget - when the game came out the maps didn't even look that good. They weren't even fully in color yet.

That is right. There are no excuses for how sims 4 ended up. Sims 2 and 3 may have not been the most beautiful game, but everything you saw was real and functional.

Also one of my favorite features is the color wheel and custom patterns. I probably spent most of my time coordinating fabrics and materials.

This is why I’m still playing The Sims 3, it’s open world, plenty of space to build homes and lots of things to explore, You had gameplay.They gave 2 steps foward and 3 steps back, then they wonder why people no longer want to play .♦️

I remember being amazed by the sims3 having the whole town and your house ready to be accessed anytime but in the sims 4 it's always a stupid loading screen

Right? The game came out in 2014, definitely had the resources to make a way better game or by now could have turned it into a better game. Thank goodness we can still play the other 3!

I just started playing sims 3 and I was genuinely shocked at how much more it had in comparison to sims 4…which I have been playing for years and spending hundreds of dollars on in expansion packs just to make it even an ounce enjoyable. I have three packs on sims 3 that I got for 30 dollars on a sale and it’s wa my funner and a lot more to do.

I remember someone said it's because sims 4 was planned to be an online game where the areas would be like "hubs" that belonged to each player so you cold visit each other's homes and select activities to do on different areas (So open world was not needed).
Then somewhere far into development they decided to change the concept and made it singleplayer.

I remember during a historic Canadian blackout I had fully charged up my old, dusty white MacBook Pro— so excited to spend the power outage playing my favourite offline game. My laptop died on the loading screen 😂

honestly I played sims 3 yesterday for the first time, and I suprised I didn’t close the game within 5 minutes like I do the sims 4😭 like it’s genuinely better now I’m just tryna understand the controls and aspects of sims 3

Really wish they would just make a Sims5 with Sims3 as its inspiration. And stop with the Sims4 or the new project they are working on now.
