Direct TV is in trouble generally. For years their biggest selling point was NFL Sunday Ticket, and the contract was won by YouTube TV, so people are leaving Direct TV in favor of YouTube in order to watch the NFL. That is going to hurt them. They can't afford to bow the knee to Disney over this. It truly is "existential" for them.
