Awesome video, installed mine while watching along on the video. Only advice I have, is that running the front to rear camera cord, tucking it in the headliner was a lot quicker and easier. Tucked it into the A-pillar trim, peeled the weather strip back, tucked it into the headliner, etc

Good quality video with clear concise speaking and it is greatly informative. 2017 RAM Laramie.

Nice video. I wish I found this video before I installed mine. For the back camera I used the right angle end to the camera and the straight plug into the front camera. That way you can bring the rear camera right upto the ceiling. The wire can go along the window chanel. You will need to make a wedge for the rear camera since the top of the rear window has a slight curve inwards. I just cut one of the extra adhesive pad in half and added it to the top of the adhesive pad so the top of the camera is further away from the window. Otherwise the plug will push against the window and will not work. You can run the wire along the headliner and the rubber gasket. It took less than 10 minutes to run and you don't need to remove any interior trims.

F33 is for the overhead switches (rear window, 911 button, etc). F66 is an accessory circuit, so nothing on it until you add something.

These are acceptable for a dash cam. Never use a circuit that controls something critical, like air bags or headlights.

I just installed in my 2019 RAM Rebel. Thanks to your video it was easy and works perfectly. Thank you!

Less wide dash cameras are good to get better view to the licence plates from cars.. than the wider angle dash cameras. You will see when you get your recordings from this camera..I have the same camera on my car.. and is just fantastic. Video quality is more than enough in case of an accident and catching licence plates from the cars.

Yeah, in looking at your install I have to hook up the hardwire out into my engine bay I wish that my fuse box was inside behind the dash but it's no problem because I can run it through the firewall, my plan is to install mines tomorrow. I have look at video after video so I want run into any problem but so far I think that it's a piece of cake.

Dude, you did a quality install. Although perhaps next time, you’ll wait until you install the back wire to the rear camera first, then set the back rear camera to the window. To rid that pinch of wire between the window seal over interior molding. It works!
Instead of hard wiring, I’m considering using an exterior power source such as a Cellink Neo to run the parking mode or to run another camera.
I currently drive a Toyota Prius and a hard wire is NOT recommended because it’s a hybrid and any messing around with the electrical system will cause problems with the system. Not worth it for me.
I’m just looking for the plug into the cigarette lighter as a power source, then run that external battery when the car is off and set into park mode camera.
Thanks for sharing your video dude 👍🏼

Nice information on how to remove panels! I can’t stand them and always end up breaking clips and push pins 🤦‍♂️

Thank you for making this video! It's super informative since I want to do a similar install with a Nextbase 522GW with Rear Camera and Hardwire Kit. You've got a new subscriber 💯

Thanks for the vid! Just got a '15 Ram 1500 and am going to get the exact same dashcam. Great explanation on the hard wiring, complete newbie on fuses and wiring and no other vids on youtube go into as much detail as you did on this part of the installation. Greatly appreciated!

Tony I purchased the same equipment I have 2019 ram 2500 virtually the same application, my question is what time frame should I expect. That was the only thing I couldn't tell was how long it took you

Excellent video, but why remove the panels ? You don’t have to do that, just run the wire in to the door sill and why don’t install the rear camera in the middle the rear window and don’t open that window ?

Can't you put the rear cam upside down and rotate the image in the settings...🤔?
PS... Why didn't you run your rear camera cable above the head liner along the passenger doors? Awesome vid

In the 2020 Ram Laramie 1500 the cigarette lighter on top of the console is a direct to the battery outlet meaning it always has power.
My question is if I plug my camera into this power outlet will it kill my battery if I’m driving regularly ?

If the camera is only on when the vehicle is on, how would you keep it on for a traffic stop when you need to turn your vehicle off?
