My favourite are the always present two elderly ladies, swimming with the heads above water, and chatting., while using the whole pool. We call them "driftwood"

It wasn’t until this video that I realized how much social anxiety I had as a young person (high school to ny twenties) and how much I sweated over the details of something like this. OMG this would have helped. Now it’s a great refresher.

And I just got home this afternoon from a vacation weekend which included a swimming pool, and me for a decent amount of time in it. 😄 That one was an outside pool but with really warm mineral water. I already think of leisure time in Düsseldorf in terms of swimming... and learning to ride a bike... and maybe the other pool (billiards). There are of course big signs to use the shower before entering the pool, however I kept seeing people skipping this. Maybe they got discouraged because the showers in question were at the other side of the pool entrance, and the weekend was sunny but still cool and windy.

This is very informative and helpful! For me personally especially that part about when you've done everything in preparation and walk the pool area, what now. 😅 Makes total sense everything you say, but it can get a little confusing or (self)awkward for newcomers, I agree and thank you. Some of the mentions are common sense, like do Not pee in the pool.. I would be sad if I see someone actually needing to be told that. One other thing, which I find common sense, but unfortunately often goes under the radar, is to be extremely careful with alcohol use! For training swimmers it goes out of question (I believe), but people going to the seaside or to open space pools don't seem to consider it that much, and I can't imagine going into the sea or river water for a swim, while having a couple of beers meanwhile. 🙄 Last evening I got invited to the pool, but refused because I had a glass.
Now about the swimming hats that one you showed seems large for me, I guess I'll be using kids size. I have tried regular size, it doesn't work. I'm a fully grown up woman wearing everything that's out there for women (S size), but my head is smaller, so hats and sunglasses are always an issue. (and headphones too) 😂

Great video, I think it got recommended to me because I've just went two days ago to Hallenbad in Schwaig, close to Nurnberg 😂 You know how the algorythm works!
Very good and fair advices, but I didn't have the courage to shower with others people...come on, it's not me, but maybe I'm still not used to seeing other people naked and showering with them 😅 they make me feel uncomfortable and guilty that I would never take my swimming shorts off.
I payed 4 euros for 1, 5 hours...for a whole day it costs 6, 5 euros, but I think it worth. Excellent modern facilities, water was heated, sparkling clean, food and drinks, massage pools, I mean you can have a great time, if you manage to come before 5 PM or in the morning.

Klasse Video. Falls ihr den Triathlon filmt, fände ich auch eine Video darüber toll oder auch andere Events, wenn ihr teilnehmen solltet wie evtl. Japantag oder wo.

Thank you for this video! I used to swim daily back in the States, but when I moved to Japan four years ago, it became impossible to keep it up. Two of the main reasons were the language barrier and scheduling (as primary caregiver for my daughter, the timing was never convenient). But also because all of my local swimming pools prohibited anyone with tattoos (which is common in Japan). Now that we're moving to Düsseldorf, I'd love to get back into swimming. I also want my daughter to get proper lessons.

About the triathlon, swimming in a pool and open water (like a lake) is not the same thing. It is much harder to swim in open water so practice maybe 1000 m in the pool before you try 200 m in a lake. This is also why you always should have a life west when you are in a boat, most people who think they know how to swim don't know the difference.

The way Jen keeps looking at Yvonne whenever she explains something is so cuteee. I watched all of this and I can't even swim

Very informative video. Thanks a lot for putting this up. I felt intimidated not knowing how the public pool system works but now will definitely give it a shot. Is it possible to take a swimming kick board to the pools for practicing techniques on own or are they strictly not allowed?

Last year I went to a public swimming pool in Germany for the first time and suffice to say I was a little surprised by how deep the pools can be. When I was a kid we didn't have many public pools in my country. Hence why I never got to learn to swim. Hope to change that and many other things for the better ❤

Hi. Great video, thanks. Do you have a video about how can we can start a business in Germany? About how to make small company for the beginning?

And then you have places like "Bambados" (terrible but brilliant pun on the city name) which are all sorts of pools into one place. Plus it comes with a frigging wall which can be raised or lowered to partition the 50m basin into 25 + 23... First time I found it raised I was sure to have taken the wrong door!

When is your next triathlon race? Want to do that too.💪

Also using phone in some pools is forbidden, if you are a foreigner in Germany and want to go swimming please aware about this rule, it is better to read the rules and the signs there at first

A paper ticket? I've only seen plastic "watches" to enter/leave and sometimes they "magically" open a locker or have a key attached. In the key option you have your specific locker number you need to use, if the lock is electronic you simply touch the door of the locker you like with your watch and that's it.
