Golden Mahseer, the unstoppable fish

The Unstoppable fish.

The Kali river has historically produced some of our most memorable moments, this being amongst them. We may have lost this monster but still, despite our anguish, we are happy that fish of this nature still exist.

This Mahseer was hooked while lure fishing by Mr Kamaljeet Singh Kalsi. After an aggressive take and strong first run, the fish decided to show us why they are considered to be the hardest fighting freshwater game fish. She simply turned around and decided to head downstream at breakneck speed.

Despite using heavy gear and almost a locked down drag the fish simply refused to be bothered by our attempts and just kept going nonstop. Eventually, something had to give and “snap” the game was over.
Mr Singh during this trip has landed some incredible fish, however, this one eluded him but then again this is what Golden Mahseer fishing is all about!!
