Each time I watch this movie, I laugh even harder at the way Helen's dress just turns for her as she goes to meet Annie. It's so incredibly pompous and pretentious and "I'm full of money" but Rose Byrne is SO good at letting that humour just flow naturally out of her role. I love this film. 😆

idk why, but Helen's intro, like, at 3:48/3:49 is just a hilarious/hysterical, because you can tell how intimidated Annie is by her personality/ looks. But then, of course, Helen's mean spirit kicks in, and she tries to be all demeaning toward Annie, by calling her "cute" and "sweet". Still think the comparison/intro scene is hilarious, though.

Melissa McCarthy will be lucky to top her performance in this film. Killer cast of funny women and she steals every scene !! I get choked up when she goes to Annie’s house to confront her about ghosting the friend group. Her monologue is really touching. ☺️Any Melissa fans who haven’t seen it you owe it to yourself to watch Can You Ever Forgive Me ?? She stars as a real life writer who began forging letters from famous literary figures and selling them to collectors. Richard Grant plays her only friend who helps her with the scam. They have fantastic onscreen chemistry and I was blown away by her dramatic acting skills. Wish she got more serious film rolls to show what she is capable of !!
