I saw the statistics in the 3rd set regarding his First serve Average speed. It was 115mph (1st set), 107mph (2nd set), 102mph(3rd set). He wasn't even using his full strength in his groundstrokes. He grunts upon exerting his full strength, but today he wasn't grunting indicating that he was WAY below his optimal level. Still, he figured out a way to win. His service was compromised, yet his mental strength remained undiminished. Rafa's box asked him to stop in mid 2nd set, but he didn't quit, and kept finding solutions as the match progressed. I'm Novak's fan. But such an amazing game by Nadal and fighting despite the injury. Many would have given up in the 2nd set, but he fought until the end. Like in the final of the Australian Open. A great champion. Nole and Nadal should be role models for young people to never give up. Let's enjoy while they still play. They will be missed by tennis.
