Who would have thought? Radiation at Chernobyl? Never saw that coming.

Despite Russias military setbacks, they certainly earned some Darwin Awards at Chernobyl.

Digging trenches in Chernobyl? Wow, that is pure ignorance.

Imagine picking a fight with someone and then acting shocked when they try to defend themselves

Anyone who's watched the Chernobyl miniseries knows what's in store for these Russian soldiers with radiation sickness. Makes me shiver.

Not the smartest army in the world are they?

You can't trust an autocrat invader to look after his soldiers...

Smart move here ...take over a nuclear facility with no CBRN qualified personnel to do risk assessment as to whether or not you should even approach the site as part of a military operation. This is stupid on so many levels it's mind-boggling. We have no idea how much radiation they were actually exposed to. And not only are Russian civilians at risk but also any Ukrainian military personnel, and civilians who may come in contact with anyone who has been exposed

This war will become the greatest “russian fail” meme in history

Suggest having Putin himself recover the trenches, lets see what a man is like when he has to do his own dirty work.

Most things at Chernobyl and the town of Pripyat are still very contaminated. Not smart to pick up anything.

🤦‍♀️ 😳I was shocked when I heard Russia “invaded” Chernobyl.
Now, I am not surprised that they fled.
🤦‍♀️ Seriously, as an American, I know better then to mess with the soil there, much less dig a freaking trench in the “Red Forest”.
I wanted to go there and visit (for the allotted time, with radiation badge). I would of looked, took pictures, and touched NOTHING.

I was living in Vietnam(formerly friendly with Russia). In the late 80s and early 90s, there were many Ukrainians who were dying of cancer came to live the rest of their lives at Vietnam beaches.

Oh please Russian soldiers, do come back. Build a military village in Chernobyl, Bring Putin, bring your family. It is good for your health. Watch your skin turn a healthy red. Stay for good.

You reap what you sow. They may have left Ukraine, but they will always bring something with them for the rest of their lives. It's like being haunted by a ghost

Patients with acute radiation syndrome (ARS) classically go through four clinical phases: prodrome, latency, manifest illness, and either recovery or death. During the prodromal phase, they usually present with nausea, vomiting, fatigue, and even loss of consciousness at higher doses. With neurological symptoms like dizziness, headache, or decreased level of consciousness, occurring within minutes to a few hours, with an absence of vomiting, and is almost always fatal, even with aggressive intensive care. Most people who die from radiation sickness are killed by infections or internal bleeding. Dying from ARS is a terrible way to die. The Russian military’s contaminated equipment, vehicles, and soldiers will cause problems to neighboring Belarus, since the Russian troops are withdrawing through Belarus. Most modern armies have been training for NBC (Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical) warfare decontamination situations. In a military nuclear decontamination cleaning station, it is assumed that a tactical nuclear weapon was used containing either Uranium or Plutonium that would produce limited battlefield contamination. The Chernobyl reactor disaster generated a multitude of radioactive isotopes of different elements from the reactor that had spread across the ground. Hiroshima and Nagasaki radiation contamination was cleaned up that used either Uranium or Plutonium, whereas the Chernobyl area had to be abandon. Parts of Belarus might have to be abandoned and isolated due to the Russian contaminated vehicles and equipment.

At this opportunity, Western countries should put Russia in a state of helplessness so that it will never mess with them again. The people of Ukraine! If you endure it a little longer, the day of victory will come soon. From South Korea.

After seeing Russia in action, I believe they are no match for the U.S.A.

When they reported that they were running out of gas and other supplies I knew they didn't have proper equipment to be over in Pripyat. Set those soldiers up for failure. How is it that we know what happened in Chernobyl including my 20 year old but they don't? It's their neighbor.
