We were privileged to see her sing this with Mick Jagger at the New Orleans Jazz Fest in 2024. Both are in their eighties now and Irma's voice was clear and strong, just a marvelous performance.

The Rolling Stones tour brought me here.

Strong. Starts out weak on the first note and builds to getting OFF in the second chorus at age plus 60.

The Rolling Stones ripped her off.
Original version times better.

She closed out the Albuquerque Jazz Festival a few years ago. Irma is all soul, but that's OK. She was great, in her 80's, and STILL hopping mad at Mick Jagger for taking this song and making it into a much bigger hit than her version, but hey, that's life. Kris Kristofferson's song Me and Bobby McGee was made into a bigger hit by Janis Joplin and he admitted, no one could have ever sung it any better than she did.
