Nice video Mick, I am from the UK but have lived in Antalya for twenty years. Originally from Somerset. Love it here and would never move back to the UK.

I think Turkey has handled the Covid-19 situation very well compared to the UK.

Mick, thank you so much for your wonderful videos. It made me quite homesick. I moved to Adana, as a newly married woman due to my husband's work at Incirlik Air Base. We lived there for 4 yrs. Mind you Adana was nothing as it is today. It was very backward then. Agriculture produce were plenty and wonderful, but meat was another story – tough like old leather boots. You couldn't buy any electrical goods, car or anything, not even fly screens for the windows. Mosquitoes were plentiful. To get a car, we had to fly home (Germany) and drive the car down to Adana. To buy European food like cheese, tin milk, cold meats etc., we traveled every 3 month to Aleppo, because the Syrians imported all these groceries, but Turkey did not.
It's amazing how much Turkey has developed since that time. We did much exploring around Adana, the coast, the mountains, but the roads were limited. There were so many ancient ruins, but only few were excavated. It was difficult to climb around these ancient places, but we enjoyed it. Summer weekends were spend at the sea in Kizkalesi (Maiden Castle). Oh my goodness, if I look at this place today (YouTube), it's built up with hotels and hundreds of people are on the beach. In the 60th there was nothing there, only one small concrete structure, like garages. These basic rooms were rented out and we could stay the night there, the communal shower was outdoors with a Turkish toilet attached. Only few people stayed at the beach, mainly Americans and Europeans who worked on the Base. Few Turkish people had cars at that time.
As for dressing, I as a woman could not wear pants in public, nor sundresses with spaghetti straps. Only a dress with sleeves. Even men could not wear shorts in public – it was ҫok fena.
Ally the best to you and your lovely wife Trudie.
