While this was uploading I also considering maybe Misty saying you can’t use it until the Pokemon already has water energy attached to it. Could fix a few problems as well.

I really like the idea of having misty flip a set number of coins, and only have it attach one to each pokemon max

i think a good nerf for misty is that it can only be used on benched pokemon. only downside is that it basically negates solo articuno/starmie until you get your second copy

Having regular starmie gives you a great 3rd turn, can retreat for free and gives some consistency to the staryu start when you go first and they play agressive.

The thing with Pocket, is that they changed a lot of the design philosophy in comparison to the actual TCG, to the point that it is basically a completely different game, but the bits of the older brother's design philosophy that they still use, don't agree with the new game. Does that make sense? For instance, on the actual TCG, if Misty were a supporter there, it would be literal unplayable trash, and it seems that they thought that because that's the case, on Pocket, it would be actually playable. But with all the fumbling that they did with the rules, like changing how energy works, what you can and cannot do on your first turns going first vs going second and etc, the game ended up so "weird" in comparison to the TCG, that it's now hard to use the knowledge and experience that they have to judge what's good and what's not on the TCG as a baseline to design Pocket. So they either have to start designing things without assumptions based on the TCG, or start making changes in Pocket so that it comes closer to the TCG. It's actually a very tricky, very hairy thing to balance out.

In fact, the whole way Pocket is designed to begin with, with the ridiculously small deck size, garanteed energy, etc, it creates all sorts of structural problems for itself, it's what makes Pocket Pocket, but it's also what creates a whole slew of problems that don't exist on the actual TCG. Someone with less experience with it might look at the TCG and go "omg, stage 2 exes have 340 hp there, they load your board full of energies, AND hit like a truck, the game is entirely broken in half", except it's not. Card games are all about relative power, and as crazy as all of that may look, other cards and other decks are doing their own brand of "this seems insane", and amazingly, they manage to make it all work and result in a deep, complex metagame that works just fine. The thing is, I think the TCG is much bigger, in all senses, card pool is huge, decks are huge (compared to Pocket), pokémon and trainer cards are numerous and do wildly different things, etc, so there are lots of "knobs" that they can tune, and since it is much bigger and more complex, it is more able to absorb different stuff designers throw at it, while Pocket, being this puny, cute little thing, with their tiny decks and insanely tempo-based game flow, simply isn't. The TCG is highly tempo based as well, at least a lot of mathchups are, but games are longer and more complex, so tempo can swing both ways more than once in a single game, while the extremely short Pocket games, make any harder tempo swing early on, for any of the sides, basically decide the match.

Anyway, I think Misty being a problem, Starmie being a problem, etc, are symptoms of more deep rooted structural problems with the game's design, so I fear that solving one problem will just lead to the next, but then again, what do we do, design the whole thing from the ground up? That's not happening. So I have no clue what the future holds. Guess we'll have to see.

I love misty so much when I don't gain anything from it at all 😂😂😂 but yeah vs another player they roll 6 heads 😂

*I think it would be best if it's not playable until the third round and capped at two simultaneous coins Once Per Match. Blastoice Surf should do 60, but that's just my favoritism. Capitalism is needing Starmie from Zard, Articuno from Mtwo, and Misty from Achu. "There will be a gap." Hahahaha*

Deck size should be 30. 4 lives instead of 3. Solves a bunch of problems. Especially when new packs get added

If the idea of Misty is to power up the cards who need the over energy, just make it only affect those cards. EZ PZ

There's little to no counterplay to misty, only herself rolling tails😅

Last night I got articuno misty'd 4 games in a row, first turn each time.

Something needs to be done. Just infuriating to be on the other side of it

It would be fine if every second player wasn't using this deck and conceding the second they don't get their misty arti flip. Join me in my arti misty decks never get thanks boycott.

Also if they get the flips, wait untill the last second to do anything, make these buggers wait for that cheap win

I dunno. A card that is a total dud 1/2 the time and only gives 1 energy 1/4 of the time doesn't seem that great.

If you wanna lose 3/4 of your matches be my guest
