I've never seen TOD only XTOC. Am i missing it?

Also when i add an extra line for a way point and sync the route it never follows it. It will show on my flight plan but the plane wont follow the purple line i created?

When is the correct time to press the approach button? Before the final?
When going visual or Rnav sometimes if you press the button it does not engage the APR.
