Course 'Practical Philosophy', Introduction
Показать описание
This course is dedicated to philosophy and, more specifically, to practical philosophy. You will learn how philosophy affects your decisions, behavior and thinking even if you are not aware of it. You will understand how behind every decision that you take lies some sort of philosophy.
Contents of the course:
1. Introduction
2. The meaning of the word philosophy and the clear definition of wisdom
3. First component of philosophy: metaphysics or reality (is reality real? Are we in a matrix? Is there a better world?)
4. Second component of philosophy epistemology or knowledge (how do we know the answers to the questions we asked in the previous lesson?)
5. Third component of philosophy: ethics (what's right and what's wrong? What is good and what is evil? How you buy products and choose to ride a bike or drive a car based on your ethics)
6. Fourth component of philosophy: politics (how should we organize our social and public life? Which is a better choice: capitalism or communism? Why?)
7. Fifth and final component of philosophy: aesthetics (what is beautiful what do we consider beautiful? Why? What should art be about?)
8. Ayn Rand and the practicality of the philosophy of Objectivism
9. Final notes and further steps for you.
The first video of the course is public. Other videos will be available to my paid subscribers. Alternatively, you can pay me otherwise and get access to the full course in case if YouTube premium is not available in your country.
