Introducing Art & Artists | Marcel Duchamp

The French artist Marcel Duchamp is known for the radical break he made from traditional art forms by inventing the ‘readymade’ - an existing object , taken from its original context and regarded as a work of art. He did this most famously with ‘Fountain’ perhaps one of the most controversial artworks in history. This film takes a look at the godfather of conceptual art, his female alter ego Rrose Sélavy, and his influence on contemporary art.
