Lea Valentina - Wunderschönes Leben

I wrote this song when I spent some days alone in nature, reflecting upon many things in life. The song became like a mantra for me in many occasions. It reminds me that just as the most beautiful moments pass, so do the unpleasant ones - like a never ending stream of experiences of which some are so enchanting and others so hard.
When I feel ecstatic and sing this song, it reminds me, that this joyful feeling will at some moment pass, to better not hold on to it. When I feel low, it reminds me that this phase will also pass, giving hope that after the dark there is light. Playing this song always feels like having an experienced sailor next to me whispering into my ear that there is no need to be afraid of the high waves when sailing through our life - waves just come and go.

Beautiful life,
that comes and goes,
like waves.
All that seems so important for us today
will only be a memory tomorrow.

I am learning to let go,
to dive into the moment,
to swim in the currents of time,
to finally arrive in the now.

It can be so hard to let go of what we love the most,
the shared time and moments suddenly seem to slip through our hands
like grains of sand.

It can be so hard to embrace new beginnings
and to see all the valuable moments we spent as what they truly are,
memories.

I shatter the illusion,
that what I had before was better,
and start to melt with this moment,
that welcomes me with a warm smile.
