my 2 favorites are Kingdom Hearts 2 and Birth By Sleep

I would say mine is pretty close to Tyler's the only difference being that I put KH3 at number 2 because I enjoyed it a bit more than Birth By Sleep it was also my first mainline experience and put 358/2 days at number 4 because that was my first introduction to the Kingdom Hearts series and I just have so many fond memories of that game in general

It's always interesting seeing the difference of opinions in this franchise. My #1 will always be KHI I think, despite its flaws.

KH 1 will always be in its own tier for me. I actually loved the bizarreness and simplicity of how the Gummi ship levels looked. It added to the atmosphere I feel like. Also i loved the complicated level designs and the use of platforming for the worlds because it made them more rememberable. Also I just absolutely love traverse town to death lol. I feel like it could actually be a world in the astral plane or something like that. I feel like I’ve been there or to a place very similar to it. If you go to traverse towns theme on YouTube there’s many people that say it feels like home so i really wonder if it exists somewhere lol. Each game in the series has its own unique vibe and atmosphere but I just happen to prefer the more innocent, magical, heart opening vibe and atmosphere that KH 1 had

I never played days, coded or union x so I'm leaving those out.

Kingdom hearts 2 is my favorite with kingdom hearts 1 as a VERY close second. I like the slow vs fast gameplay that these two bring.

Then dream drop distance. I really like the gameplay with the flow motion and stuff. Plus the board mechanic was really fun and simple to understand. The story is pretty good too as long as you don't think too much into it.

Then I got Birth by Sleep. I found it to be a little more slow version of dream drop distance, but I liked it just much, maybe a little less.

I'm surprised to say that kingdom hearts 3 is next. Keep in mind that I still love the game just like the rest, but I never waited all those years for it. I got 1.5, 2.5, 2.8, and three with roughly a year's time in between each. I say this to say that I can't have that years of expectation to be ruined like everyone else has. But I can DEFINITELY say that the ending was just the worst thing from the series.

And finally, Chain of memories. This is the only kingdom hearts game that I had to FORCE myself to play. The world's feel like they were kinda just slapped in last minute. The story is boring and you really only need to know how it ends. I got this as an early teenager and I still hated the card mechanic. Plus, much more of a minor nitpick. Sora's new voice stole the rug right from underneath me. I've gotten used to it, but going from kingdom hearts 1 directly into chain of memories really messes with my head.

My personal favorite is birth by sleep love the wayfinder trio aqua had character development and she connected with the sora riku when they're kids plus when her arc was done I was like no it cant end like this.. she was the only master out of the three. And spent 12 years in the rod. Well invested

For me my list goes:
1. Kingdom hearts 2 (loved the different worlds, the forms, the story is probably the best, and sometimes the graphics were the best)
2. Birth by sleep (loved being able to play the game thru the different perspectives & gameplay, great story and background for the series)
3. Kingdom hearts (the OG, it had that dark feel to it & the magic of course, a little clunky and slow tho)
4. Kingdom hearts 3 (liked how u could use multiple keyblades in battle, loved some of the new worlds, maleficent & that black box was useless except for setting up the next game, key blade graveyard could've been better, miss the old xehanort voice actor too)
5. Chain of memories (hated the cards)
6. 358/2 days (never played it but the story was a little confusing)

Loved the video alex but you know what still moved me it was when I saw the first trailer video for kh it gave a grimming vibe that i can't feel from the newer ones but mind you that was just 1 trailer and favorite ones were

1. Kingdom Hearts (It's the original, I clowned the game until I played it and the story pulled me in. I couldn't believe it but the game had me in my feelings especially when Sora and Mickey closes the door and Riku says "take care of her")

2. Kingdom Hearts 2 (they took from KH and made major improvements. The way Sora moves, the camera, combos were all better. Really enjoyed to see the growth in Sora and Riku)

3.Birth by Sleep (The lore in this game and the back story had me amazed. Realizing who Master Xheanort is and how important he was to the story was mind blowing. Also playing with 3 different characters was cool)

4. Kingdom Hearts 3 (waited over a decade and wanted more! I feel like they left something out but the graphics are the best in the series. Answered questions for me yet it created more)

5. Chain of Memories (I didn't like the card system but I loved the story and Castle Oblivion concept. Should have remade the game without card system and I believe this would have been 1 of the best in the series)

6. Dream Drop Distance - Story is OK but it ups the confusion x10. I didn't like Flo motion or the story. Especially didn't like the dream eaters. Time travel just went left for me. Mark of Mastery should have been a fight with Yen Sid or something else)

1. KH3— Love Story, gameplay, and the best dialogue. All the built up stuff over the years hit my emotions hard here. Beautiful worlds, that really immerse you in the game.

2. KH2— Love story, gameplay, characters, etc. Same reasons as KH3, but KH3 obviously made lots of improvements.

3. Birth By Sleep- Love the Story in this game. Darkest we’ve ever seen KH’s.

4. KH— Great opening to the series. Simple gameplay compared to the rest. I loved the puzzles in this game, which you didn’t really get puzzles again until KH3.

5. Birth By Sleep 0.2 A Fragmentary Passage— Loved seeing what Aqua was up to. Gave us an idea of what KH3 was going to be like. First time having Mickey as party member.

6. 358/2 Days— Loved stories and characters. Lacked Disney involvement, besides the worlds (I played the actual game). All you really did was kill heartless, which gets repetitive.

7. Dream Drop Distance— Dialogue is awkward. Flow motion is busted lol. Hate how Riku and Sora keep switching, so you have to buy items to stay as that character which is annoying. Don’t like Dream Eaters even though they are cute lol.

8. Re: Chain of Memories— Loved card aspect, it was annoying at times running out or needing cards though. I didn’t like the heartless transition either. I thought Disney stuff was annoying and lacking since they made us basically rehash KH. Enjoyed story though.

9. KH X [CHI] Back Cover— Fun movie, but not as invested in this area of time yet, we need more future KH games to enjoy it. Story for that movie or whatever is somewhat similar to other stories told of “who betrayed who”

10. KH Unchained X [CHI]— Takes forever for story updates. Gacha system annoying LOL. Hard to understand, in my opinion.

11. Re: Coded— Story almost pointless until the end.

All I'm going to say is Kingdom Hearts 2 is the best and Kingdom Hearts. 3 and Dream Drop Distance are tied for Worse. Lol
