Evia Greece Kimi

Kimi is a coastal town at the middle of the eastern side of Evia, having one of the largest artificial ports in Greece. The village is built up into the hill with a great view of the Aegean Sea, and is called the "balcony to the Aegean". Many historians believe that ancient Kimi was the mother-town of Neapolis, the first Greek Colony in Italy. There are many sights worth visiting in the surrounding area, many beautiful sandy beaches with steep rocks, ideal for underwater fishing. There is a great tourist infrastructure and intense nightlife. Kimi is famous for traditional sweets and other local products. It is also the home town of Dr. G. Papanikolaou, the great scientist (Pap Test).
