Hey Brett, been playing HUT/World of Chel for years so I have some tips for you. First off because of how many slashing calls you get it seems like you play on NHL 94 controls. You defiantly want to play on Skill Stick especially if you want to get better, 94 controls limits almost everything you can do in this game. Team building wise for HUT speed is everything, look at everyones speed, if a card is high rated but has 83 speed it still might not be good. Put your higher speed guys on the top lines. You also want your team set up for one timers, right handed players should be on the left, left handed on the right, left D on the right and right D on the left. Goalie wise overall does not matter, you want the biggest goalies in the game. For example a 5'7 86 overall goalie is way worse than a 6'5 83 overall goalie. Poulin is an exception but for the most part women cards are not good in HUT, they lack height and weight so they are easy to get bodied. If you are opening a ton of packs the free rewards and sets are not as beneficial but still will be, don't quick sell any players, use them in sets. For example if you go to exchange and go to sets there is a 50 gold players for an X factor set, and a 75 gold players for a HUT Icon set which could be gretzky or lemiuex. You can also exchange gold players for collectables like the power up collectables for x factors and icons. The best thing to do right now would be turn those gold players into spotlight collectables under the HUT spotlight set, you can use those collectables to upgrade your 84 spotlights into 88s, some of the best cards in the game. With all these packs you should have way more than enough players to max out all your spotlight cards. With your coins I would also look into x factor Larkin, he has wheels which is the best x factor in the game, or base matthews or makinnon. On offense always look for either a back door pass or cut to the slot and shoot (skill stick helps with this a lot). On Defense in HUT always user a Dman and extend your stick with skill stick defense. The way to get better at these little things is honestly pick a deke or skill you want to learn and hop into practice mode and just practice that for a while and then move on to the next deke or skill you want to learn. You can also do team building sets to get 90 overall players, so hang on to your gold players, only sell players who are 83 overall or higher.

Hey just a tip! Hold on to any NHL player cards that aren’t on the team, you can use them in the Team Builders set, when you finish all the team builders you get some 89 overalls depending on how many you get, you can find that in “Sets”.Also the Fantasy Hockey series is Probably going to come out soon so hold on to 83 and 84 overall cards, young guys like caufield might get cards to.The cards go up by 1 overall every goal they score, so Caufield would be perfect.There’s no overall cap either they can go right up to a 99 overall by Winter.Also try getting some X-Factor packs, there’s a set that you can do to get them.X-Factor Cards can be upgraded with coins if you just look at their card info, same with those Spotlight 23 cards you have just in the far future those X-Factor cards could have a max of 99 overall, where as the spotlight cards have a cap of 88 they won’t change.Future MSP cards will come out for event to that you can also upgrade.There’s a lot more I could go on about but I hope this helps😁

Hold LB to crouch block and stop the cross crease passes. Can do it in your career mode too. Press LB + RB To dive, only do that if you’re opponent is on a fast break the other way, you’ll take a tripping penalty a lot but it’s mainly a last ditch effort. Crouch blocking will take your defense to the next level.

To stop the cross on skill stick you can hit LB and RB and it will make you lay down.

For your defensive strategy you want to use collapsing protect the net to stop cross crease and don’t dive to try to intercept the pass just be in the lane and it will do it

Few days late but switch to skill stick rather than hybrid, the stick lift button stays the same but the shoot button changes. Currently have been a div one woc player for the past two year

Here’s a couple tips Brett.

1. Across crease one timers don’t work often in this game. You’re better to hang onto the puck and deke with a skater rather then passing it across the ice for the one timer

2. Two best ways to score in this game is coming from behind the net on a wrap around or coming down with speed and crossing just in front of the net with speed to put it home.

Just a tip, you can upgrade Whitecloud and McCann to a 88

If you are drafting late for fantasy hockey you can grab Brayden Point late. Most sites had him ranked lower because he was injured before, but totally healthy and started the season strong. Nice little 4th to 5th round stud.
