I remember hearing about this story years ago so of course it isn't shocking when ppl have their ideas stolen. Salute to her for being responsible for creating these ideas just too bad Hollywood ran those films into the ground with sequels we never asked for.

I first heard about & followed this story (saga) years ago. We all should be pleased that Ms. Stewart has finally been recognized, respected & rewarded for her genius level "stolen art." Now check it out, what most may not know...The Terminator & The Matrix where originally one fluid script. The character "Neo" in the Matrix, was based on the storyline & events that followed "John Connor" (Sarah Connors' Son) from the Terminator. Who, if you follow the plot from both movies, was sent to rescue & awaken (the people) from "SkyNet aka The Matrix" which are alternate realities & artificial intelligent tools of control. The people who stole her work, knew this. Hence is why they rewrote & chopped up the original back story, as not to compensate Ms. Stewart. Furthermore, what's done in the dark will always be shown in the light.

There's a grave misunderstanding here. The case she won was not against the studios it was against her lawyers. She hired shitty lawyers accusing them of breach of contract and malpractice and won that case and the judge rewarded her court and lawyer fees. Nothing from the movie studio.
She lost her case to the movie studio because she didn't turn in her evidence, that being the movie scripts the treatments and whatever else she said they stole.
And the last thing is the book itself. The first 50 pages is the actual story and then the rest is documents about the case. Her story is 50 pages and doesn't even relate to those movies in the slightest.

I heard about this story years ago. If you look at the whole story of The Terminator and The Matrix, it actually makes alot of sense. John Connor/Neo is hunted as a child by the machines and grows up to be the human Messiah that ends the war against the machines.

The case was dismissed in June 2005 after the judge ruled that Stewart and her attorneys had failed to produce evidence to support her claims and did not demonstrate a striking similarity between her work and the films. 

She later filed another lawsuit, this time against her attorneys who represented her in the case, accusing them of breach of contract and malpractice, among other things. In 2014, the judge ordered that she was entitled to $316, 280 stemming from the costs and attorneys fees in the copyright infringement suit.

With a little googling you could have found out that Harlan Ellison wrote two episodes for the Outer Limits that James Cameron stole for the inspiration for The Terminator movie "Demon with a Glass Hand" and "Soldier". The episode of "Soldier" opening looks like the opening of the Terminator movie. If she is lying about creating The Terminator movie she is lying about The Matrix as well. Ellison sued and won a lawsuit against Cameron.

Fun fact The (original) script that produced Living single, and Girlfriends was written by Erikah Malone Robert's the producer of the stage play in love with Tyrone, and a Show that wasn't picked up called Ward of the State starring Janet Hubert
