Prepping Euro S2 bumpers for installation on my Audi S2 clone.

The North American Market never received the Audi S2, but we did get the Audi Coupe Quattro, which shares the same shell. We did get the 5 cylinder 20 valve version, but it was the naturally aspirated, not the Turbocharged version. Luckily we did get the 20vt motor in other Audi Models like the Audi S4 (URS4), Audi S6 (URS6), and the 1991 Audi 200 Quattro. These all had variants of the 20vt 5 cylinder motor found in the S2 in europe. I, like many others, wanted to recreate that rare Audi with what we have here. I imported MANY parts including surprisingly large bumpers which are featured in this video, and engine parts, engine harnesses and many other parts to be able to re-create and make an S2 clone. Most of the major differences are :

5 Lug vs 4 lug wheels
Turbo charged and intercooled motor VS Naturally Aspirated
Front and Rear Bumpers (1 piece with room for intercooler VS 2 Piece with 5mph bumpers)
European Headlights and foglights VS DOT approved ones
B4 style Hood VS the B3 Style hood
Battery under seat VS battery under hood
01E transmission VS 01A transmission (*this is only on later S2s in europe, early ones had the same 01A setup as the NA coupe quattro)

There of course are smaller differences depending on build dates and so forth, but those are the main ones, I'll be making most if not all of those changes, I'm not sold on the hood, and my battery will probably be relocated to the trunk instead of under the seat.

I just wanna make one thing very clear that wasn't clear in my ramblings on the video. I am VERY THANKFUL for the rear mounts that are available. They were inexpensive and excellent fitment. The presentation was the only thing lacking. I would buy again tomorrow, and have recommended them in the past to many others.

Its funny how the coupes are quite common here. B2 is rare though. Change the rear numberplate surround to EU one too, it will look a ton better.

Hi! I'm Greg from Kraków, Poland! I'm very happy owner of US Coupé quattro 20V 7A from Washington State (since few months)! 62 K miles car! 1 of 1730. That's funny that US bumpers and small license plates tail lights are great and unicorn here in Europe and in States You're searching for EU spec! Best wishes!
