Airbus H225LP Mk.2+ F-WWOI for the first time with the BUNDESPOLIZEI in Hangelar (EDKB), Germany
Показать описание
The German Federal Police wrote a tender to purchase up to 44 new helicopters to replace the aging AS332 Super Pumas and EC155B in the fleet. For that, Airbus helicopters had sent this H225 powered by two Turbomeca Makila 2A1 turboshaft engines for demonstration flights to the Federal Police main base at St. Augustin Hangelar (EDKB). In this video, the helicopter is seeing arriving in Hangelar on July the 20th, 2022. Demonstration flight took place up to 4 times on a daily basis. For that, they flew mostly via Heimertsheim to Nörvenich Air Force base and sometimes even to Geilenkirchen Air Force base. After this H225. Sikorsky will send an S-92 Helibus as another potential choice. One of the requirements is a sling capacity of up to 5,000 kg due to the rising operations to fight wildfires. This H225 is also the first Airbus helicopter H225 flying with 100% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
On 9 November 2021– an Airbus H225 has performed the first ever helicopter flight with 100% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) powering one of the Safran Makila 2 engines. The flight, which took place at the company’s headquarters in Marignane, marks the start of a flight campaign aiming to assess the impact of unblended SAF on the helicopter systems in view of certifying the use of SAF blends that exceed today’s 50% limit. The flight campaign, which follows earlier unblended SAF bench tests performed by Safran Helicopter Engines at its Bordes plant, will provide further understanding of the technical challenges associated with the use of 100% SAF. The H225 test helicopter flew with an unblended SAF derived from used cooking oil, provided by TotalEnergies, which offers a net 90% CO2 reduction compared to regular jet fuel.
Any of my helicopter photographs are copyright by Frank Vorwerk / HTDI and are avalable for private / commercial use! Just drop me a line via Email, we make it possible.
It is my aim to prepare a historical data sheet of any helicopters ever produced since 1946 till today, except for home builds and microliths. It includes the manufacturer's construction / serial number (MSN), current and past registration, type and upgrades of version, year of construction, current location, country, owner/operator, and operator's address/ contact details when wanted.
To make this database comprehensive, I am always on the lookout for more helicopter enthusiasts worldwide hew will let me display their helicopter photographs including their names for copyright no matter of quality. In exchange for helicopter photographs, the photographer gets access to my helicopter database which contains more than 107.000 different helicopters. If interested, please send me an email.
