The Chaparral Wakes Up!

Started messing around with a 1974 Chaparral 440 SSX that's been in my family since the late-70's. It hasn't been registered since 1985, and up until now it hadn't ran on its own fuel since 2002. After some fresh gas, and a half-assed attempt to clean the carbs while on the sled, we got it running. The right carb was getting some fuel but not enough until something cleared out and the sled started running great!

these old Chaparral's are good for hitting the trails I don't see why people go spend 3-4 thousand dollars or more on a new snowmobile when you can get a decent older snowmobile for a few hundred dollars and go trail riding and have just as much fun same with quads and other ATVs I gave my younger brother a 1974 rupp 440 for his first snowmobile 2 winters ago because he is from Tennessee and didn't have anything to ride with us in the winter my uncle gave me and my dad 2 1994 Yamaha exciter 2 570's and a good friend of mine felt like he owed me for getting him fire wood for the past few years I done it just to clean up the trails and so he didn't have to work so hard to heat his house so he gave me a 1970' bolt action 12ga shot gun a 1975 Honda 100 Elinor a 1974 rupp 440 snowmobile my 1983 Honda 200s three Wheeler and he gave me my dad and my younger brother a 1964 14 foot checkmate dock knocker 90hp mercury speed boat bad ass little bitch one of the fastest boats I have been on and we have a manco dingo buggy 8hp I've had since my 5th birthday my son rides and a 1996 polaris trail boss my wife rides I picked up for 100 dollars needed the gear case JB welded
